HELP!!! Monitor Showing vertical Lines.

I just finished building my PC and with much success. I have an AGP graphics card installed and as soon as I popped a DVD in the new DVD player I purchased to try it out the dispaly went dead with vertical lines. Did I just blow my graphics card? I'm hoping that is the case and not anything else. Anyone?

I have an IDE intel d845pt P4 board. I installed an AGP GC with 64mb. The DVD Rom is an IDE. What else do you need to solve my dilemma?

I switched monitors and it was the same. I also have an XP OS.

Its really far out of date.

It's probably a multimedia system for a home theater or something.

Just building one for my son out of an old PC I had to do homework stuff. Plus this was my trial and next one will be more up to date. So what is your verdict..GC?

Are you talking about the DVD Disc?

Probably the card. You can probably find another AGP card somewhere cheap

Vertical lines went away after about 10 mins. with the power down. It looks like windows found the error and corrected it. Now it's back to normal...whew!!!
