Hey everyone, I recently bought an Asus rog strix z270e and the listing claimed that it was broken, but I popped in my components and everything worked, I thought... Upon booting it up for the first time I was amazed that it worked and did not pay attention to the cpu over voltage error. Next day I decided to change my ram from the official JDEC speed (2133MHz) to my normal ram speed (3200), the first time I tried this it worked fine, until I power on my pc and I get the dram error and after I do a bios reset it says it booted in safe mode, or protected mode or something like that. After that I try to change the speed back to 3200 and it goes to the dram error and does not post unless I reset the bios. Also the CPU core voltage is around 2.2-2.7 volts in the bios, but 1.26 in HWmonitor which worries me a lot. How do I fix this?

SPECS:
I7-7700k no oc
Corsair vengeance led 3200mhz
WD black 500gb nvme ssd
Asus gtx 1070
Asus rog strix z270e gaming (updated to latest bios ver)
Cooler master 1000w silent pro
Thanks y’all!

Solution
Well
In this case I recommend you make a CMOS reset of the BIOS by taking out the CMOS battery for 3-5 minutes while the PSU is unplugged. While the power cord from the PSU is still unplugged, press the power button down for 30 seconds to power discharge the motherboard . Then place the CMOS battery back in, plug in the PSU and try again.
After this go into the BIOS > Advanced Menu > APM Configuration, from here set the ERP Ready to Enabled S4 + S5 or Enabled S5 and set the Restore AC Power Loss to Last State and test the motherboard again.

I hope it will help
Well I belive something is wrong with that motherboard
At 2.2 core voltage the cpu is dead and since you can get into windows it must be incorrect voltage

As for what you can try to do I would start by clear cmos and updating the bios see if it helps

As I said earlier i went to Asus’s website and updated the bios to the latest version.
I had just reset the cmos with no avail.
Thanks for the suggestion 👍

Also the HWmonitor shows the noramal voltage (I assume) ~1.26 volts, but the thing that annoys me most is when you power it, the board gives me a CPU over voltage error and tells me to press f1, after that I am stuck in a loop where when I exit the bios the pc restarts and I am greeted with the same error again until around the third time it works and boots straight to the OS
