Question Help my I think I fried my fans

So I pluged my fans 3 pin fans to the 3 pin connector and I smell frying I took the fans out no more burning smell, what I wana know did I just ruin the connectors?

Is there any burnt/ melted plastic on the holder itself, or the mobo? if you hold the fan in your hand, and have it plugged in what happens? does it smoke smell from the fan or ?

I am running my pc after 15 minutes of the problem the pc is running fine, I don't smell anything on the mobo itself but the fan outside the computer still smells the same.

Also if I plug instantly the fan only turns leds and doesn't move, just smells the same.
