HELP my pc crashes when i try to play any graphic intense gamee

i just got a asus strix 970 and when i try to play battlefield 4 or rainbow 6 siege it crashes after about 1 minute of gameplay, WHATS GOING ON WITH MY PC!!




i have a 500watt power supply
i have 8 gigs of hyper ram
asus m5a78l-musb3 motherboard
amd fx6300 6 core 3.5ghz AM3+



i had unplugged my dvd-rom drive to try to cut back on power and still it crashes... PLEASE HELP!!!

That is a 400W hunk-o-junk at best. Probably less thanks that. Replace immediately. It doesn't even have GPU power connectors. How on earth did you plug it in?

could i add a second psu to my pc and just dedicate it just my graphics card?

NO. remove the card immediately. You are lucky it just shut down instead of destroying the whole PC. Buy a quality PSU. Look at the tier list above and find a decent 500-600W that actually has the connector you need for a GPU
