Question HELP my pc keeps freezing (the curson moves)

its been a very long time since my laptop started to freeze . like out of no where when am closing an app/game or like just alt+tabing out to check something on discord my whole pc freezes but the cursor moves and everything runs in the background if am on calls i can still attend the calls i can mute and unmute my self using the keybinds and all. so basically when my pc freezes eeryhting runs in the background and the cursor also moves but nothing else moves . i use an external monitor along with my laptops monitor it is connected via hdmi , a fix which i found out is disconnecting and connecting the hdmi cable , And sometimes this doesnt work then i have to hold on to the power button so the laptop force restarts...... but doing this is not pleasent and sometimes very stressfull while i am doing something. so i need a fix or a atleast a stable solution . SO PLEASE HELP TIA

my pc configs are -
i5 9300H
1660 ti 6gb
32 gigs of 2666mghz ram

256 gig of nvme ssd ( bios installed)
and a 1 tb harddisk

Is the system OS, drivers and software up to date ?
How are the components temperatures?
How much free space available on the SSD?
How are the disks setup?

Does it happen when a specific app is used?
