In it the guy was testing the 3080 Ti, it was doing really good to say the least but when I decided to test mine and notice that I was getting way less frames than him about -70fps. So I putt the same settings as him and went to the same spots he went on 1440p and it was the same thing I was getting 85-100fps while he was getting 150-175fps. The guy has a better cpu than me, it’s the 5900x I have 3900x, but the gap between those two CPU’s is small.

No, the gap in those two (5900x v 3900x) is 20% sometimes more in gaming performance! Zen 3 had a huge uplift in IPC, clockspeeds. It is a whole lot better than a 3900x

What power plan...

What power plan are you using. It should be on Ryzen balanced. Check you have the latest chipset drivers, as this will have the most up to date power plan.

What are your other system specs? What memory do you have? Is it running in dual channel and with XMP/DOCP on?

Thanks for the reply. That’s a good point I haven’t updated my cpu drivers.
Ram: 32GB DDR4 3600mhz Model F4-3600C18D-16GVk. Running at DOCP3533. Can’t get it run at 3600mhz.
SSD: Samsung 500GB
HDD: 1TB & 4TB
Motherboard: ROG Strix b450-f gaming.
PSU: Corsair 850 Gold

Defo do that first, and do a fresh driver install for the GPU. Use DDU to uninstall it, and then fresh drivers. See how you get on.

You can try set ram timings manually in the bios, as an alternative to XMP/DOCP. It could be that manually it might make a difference. Worth trying to be sure.

IT WORKED! I haven’t had updated my CPU drivers since 2020. GPU drivers are up to date too. I tried manually setting the Ram timings to 3600mhz but it didn’t work either. Maybe now that I updated the cpu drivers it might work. Imma try it. Thanks a lot for the help.

Excellent! :) Glad you're sorted now.

Yes, keeping your system drivers up to date, with Ryzen, and your bios too, will keep everything running nicely for you. You still have a strong CPU, and a great overall gaming system.

If you're happy with the outcome, you can close the thread off by choosing an answer as the solution.

Happy gaming :)
