Help my upgrade my pc

I need help upgrading my pc for gaming, my current specs are:
gpu- amd 7770 1gb vram
cpu- intel core 2 quad q6600
motherboard- intel dg31pr
psu- 550wat (not sure what brand)
ram- 3gb 2ddr
hd- 1tb
I want to spend under $300, i need more ram i would have to get a new a motherboard, then also a new cpu.
I was thinking the amd fx 6300, a $60-$80 motherboard, and 8gb ram.
If you guys have any ideas please help, also i use amazon.

Your FX 6300 will last you for 3 years, 2 months, 4 days, 6 hours and 12 minutes.

That motherboard isn't too bad, but you won't be able to overclock on it, which you would have been able to with mine, plus it's higher quality overall, even though the features of both of those are pretty close.

What pci express is it? 2.0? also how long do u think the cpu will last for real because my q6600 is still doing alright after 7 years
