Help needed. I beg of you...

Hi everyone. Having a few problems when trying to install XP Pro SP2 on my new machine. It gets to installing the start menu then restarts itself. I have tried home version of XP too, but the same problem. I did however get Windows 7 to work, kind of...W7 wouldn't recognise my second hard drive or my external hard drive. Any ideas?

Try installing XP with only 1G of RAM. Look for scratches on the disk.

no scratches on the disk. I thought the RAM could only work in sets of 3 for this chipset?

One or two sticks should work too, just not in Triple Channel mode
