Hey :) .

I've recently bought an CPU ( i5 4570 ) But. It's not the smoothest.

Now i've been playing GTA V a while with it. But the FPS is like Terrible...

Now my question. Is there any CPU wich may fix the FPS. Because while gaming the CPU = 100% . (Terrible)

I've seen on internet the i5 6600k Or 4690k .
And, I know the K is for overclocking (Not going to do this)
So, if i dont. is the 4690k Still better then 4690 Or not?
And what do you advice, I actauly want 1 with alot core's. Because gta v asks alot (small) things, And not long thing to load. :) . And
Can i still hold my older CPU in it then? So i use 1 CPU fully for gaming. And the other for Windows stuff etc ?

Idk if my motherboard supports a 2nd Processors. Because i dont know wich Motherboard i have,,, And i dont know how to check it 😀

oh, And what is AMD kind of? Is it bad?

(Btw, I actauly only want i5 Because the high priceses. Or i7 if you can findt a lower price, but good 1, I am thinking about the 200 Euro. Max 300)

Thankyou!

Yes, higher is faster. GHz is a measure of instructions per second (or operations per second, either is acceptable), measured in billions. 1GHz is 1 billion instructions per second, 2GHz is two billion instructions per second, and so forth.

For the Asus B85M-G, the i7-4790k is the best choice. It is in the Haswell Refresh Family. http://pcpartpicker.com/product/6vzv6h/intel-cpu-bx80646i74790k

Also, please be aware that I recommend having a higher GPU than a 970 in order to play GTA V. I recommend a 980, or a 1070 if you have the money. The R9 390 would also do it, although I no longer recommend them since they're rather power hungry compared to newer more efficient architectures.

I will add that I agree with USAFRet, upgrading the...
If you don't know what motherboard you have, then we can't help you here. Different motherboards have different sockets, and each family of CPUs requires a different socket (i3, 15 and i7 are not families of CPUs, they're categories).

Also, single core performance is more important than the amount of cores when it comes to gaming. Most games aren't coded to take advantage of more than four cores.

And if you have an Intel motherboard, you're definitely not going to be able to put an AMD CPU (or APU) in it, because they have a different socket. And even if you got some sort of adapter to go from an Intel socket to an AMD socket (this probably doesn't exist), then it still wouldn't work because AMD CPUs have instructions sets in them that are designed to only be able to communicate with AMD chipsets.

And if your board would support two processors, it's never a good idea to use two different CPUs. Most boards will fail the POST (Power-On Self Test) if the two CPUs are not the same. Others may work with two different CPUs, but the performance of both CPUs will be limited to the performance of the slowest CPU because the two are given equivalent work loads.

My advice, find out what motherboard you have, report back and we'll go from there. To find out, download AIDA64 Extreme edition here http://www.aida64.com/downloads/MTU2ZTc0OGQ= and use the download.aida64.com download location, it's the safest. If AIDA64 wants to install any ad-ons, say no; you just want the program, nothing else.

@mdsiu I am using the GTX 970 4Gb, And Using 3500 Space of the GB of it , In GTA V with +/- 40 FPS

@USAFRet Not sure.

@weberdarren97 The program says : Asus B85M-G

(Edit For everyone here. If possible. i want higher then a 3,20 GHZ. Because higher was faster i've seen, Right? xD )

I will add that I agree with USAFRet, upgrading the CPU will likely not solve the problem completely. The problem appears to be that your CPU is overloaded with background programs. Try disabling startup programs.

If you have Windows 7, press Win+R to open Run and type in msconfig.msc and press Enter. Navigate to the Startup tab, disable all programs that you don't need to be running at all times.

If you have Windows 8/8.1/10 then press Control+Shift+Escape to open Task Manager. Navigate to the Startup tab, disable all programs that you don't need to be running at all times.

Please be aware that disabling a program at startup does not stop it from working, it will still launch when you open it. Disabling a startup objects stops it from running automatically when Windows starts. Programs that are running in the background are consuming memory, some of the hard drive's read/write activity and maybe some of the CPUs clock.

Please also be aware that some programs need to be running at all times, like drivers. If you see any startup objects that say Nvidia, Intel, Graphics, Sound or Audio, then leave those ones alone, do not disable those ones.

@weberdarren97 Oh lol, Just recently bought the GTX 970. I had the 960 2gb before. but i wanted 4gb, And they told my my PC could handle the GTX 970 the best. (I've ordered my PC at a store. it's hand build. Not a fabric thing.)
I've checked the i7, It's not that high . Now need to find the cheapest one at store's 😀 .

I've already did all disable upstarting program, And i close (Ctrl Shift Esc) My Google Chrome, Origin And Skype. I play GTA V Via disc's 😀 ) And i am using W10

Now, While typing this. When Chrome is open (6 Tabs) Skype, and AIDA64 Extreme open. My CPU is up to 5%. Wich is awesome. But while gaming it's just 1000000000000000000.

Another thing that may be holding back your FPS is the speed of your optical drive (the thing you put the disk in). SATA III maxes out at about 570MB/s, so if the game is trying to load textures from disk while you're playing it, you might have a better experience if you played off of an install on the hard drive rather than off of the optical drive.

Also, having to communicate with an extra SATA device (this being the optical drive) causes the use of another SATA channel in the chipset, which consumes CPU clock...But it should only consume a few thousand cycles per second, it shouldn't slow down a chip that does billions.

Also, the 4570 does 3,600,000,000 cycles per second, so I think 1000000000000000000 is a bit of an exaggeration... Lol

@Weberdarren97 with the 1000000+ i meant the usage xd.

And the game is installed on an Samsung SSD 850 EVO 250 Gb, And only GTA is on that one. So fully clean. It's not loading from a HDD disk xd.

And sometimes i have it, that the texture's need to load. Or randomly disapear LOL 😀

(Exuses for my broken english. I am dutch 😛 )

@weberdarren97 I've choosen the "Intel Core i7 4790K"

Now people say this is the best perfect fit for the GTX 970 4GB (I have those one too) is that right or not? I've choosen the "Intel Core i7 4790K " From the link you've told me to choose out, So it would fit with my Motherboard.

Is the Core i7 4790K The best one for GTX 970 4GB?
