Help: New Drives

I put together a new computer for myself and got two SATA Maxtor Hard
drives.
The board is a Asus A8V Deluxe.

Problem: I don't want to use the Raid, only if I have it as JOHD, which I
pluged them both into the Main Board, not the raid inputs because if I do
that, it looks for the Master EIDE connection drive, which Maxtor don't
have, only the Serial ata cable in and out.
I start up and I have both Drives, but as Drive C only, and the size is
the size of the combined drives (120 gig + 120 gig =240 gig), I want them to
com up as separet drives, what am I doing wrong, please ?

Problem 2: I have Both the CD and DVD on the EIDE cable's, and they are
fine.
BUT, If I side a ULTRA 133 into my Mobile rack, it tries to boot from it
instead of the SATA.
(I use a Mobile rack mostly for backing up to with Ghost).
Hope I got enough info for you people, as I'm a older person and it will be
my last one I assemble for myself.
OH, winXP SP2, AMD 3500 64 bit.
TIA, but I'll be back for the thank you.

Don't know about your Asus board by my ABIT IC7-MAX3 has connections for 6
SATA devices, 2 EIDE channels (4 devices), and floppies.

In the BIOS I can switch the SATA between RAID or IDE and I can select the
boot device from the BIOS also.

Have you read and re-read the motherboard manual to verify various setup
settings? Have you gone to the Asus web site to read any FAQs and see if
they have a forum? (A forum willbe similar to these newsgroups.)

I'm Reading and Working Too hard.
All I really want to do is run two SATA as 150's, but not as a raid setup,
just two fast drives.
