Hey,
I need immediate help. Basically I got a used PSU from some guy online. I asked him to come hook it up for me, thinking his skills are better than mine when it comes to putting PC parts together. Basically I have a PC with the following specs:
Intel i7-4790K CPU @ 4.00GHz
NVIDIA GeForce 970 Zotac
8GB of RAM (which for some reason instead of 8GB, 4GB are detected after switching back to my old PSU)
2 SSD's 500GB + 125GB (which for some reason instead of both being detected, only my main Windows SSD with 500GB is detected after switching back to my old PSU)
ASUS Maximum Hero VI
My old PSU was some crap no-name company that a friend used to complete my build because I was out of money. Yes, I know the CPU and GPU are really good and expensive and should have went with a quality PSU since the beginning but case was and still is that I was out of cash. Now I was told by many that I should by the Seasonic S12II-520 Bronze, 520W (pretty good at its price range). Which should be way better than the one I had, which had 500W and being a no-name company, God knows how much juice you actually get out of that PSU.
So I installed all cables as they where. Surprisingly the new PSU had 8 pins instead of 4 that my old one had. Basically I attached all the cables wherever I had the older ones. Put each cable where it belongs. I continuously tried putting them back on and off, in case some where not that firmly placed.
Now basically the GPU boots up. The fans of the PSU boot up. My liquid cooler boots up BUT it's fans are not spinning?! The code on the MOBO is stuck at 00 which basically means it's not booting up. So basically it looks like it's not booting up because of my CPU?! No idea really. I tried to take it apart and repeat the process for a few times. I also tried to reset the BIOS. Nothing.
Any ideas?
