First off, here's the specs on my computer.

Case: Cooler Master Centurion 534+
Motherboard: GIGABYTE GA-P35-DS3R
PSU: Corsair 520W
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo e6420
Cooling: Arctic Freezer 7 Pro
HD: Segate SATA 320 GB
RAM: 2x1 GB Patriot DDR2800
Graphics: EVGA 8800 GTS 320
+ extra cooler master 120 mm front fan

I'm a noob, this was my first build. I installed Windows XP Home SP2 cd, installed drivers off of Gigabyte cd yesterday, fixing most/all of the error beeps from motherboard. Turned on computer today, and soon as it starts up, I get one long continuous beep that keeps going as Windows loads. It's not listed in the manual at all, and I have no idea what the problem is. CPU temp reads as 36-39 degrees in BIOS, I'm 90% sure nothing is overheating. Computer is not hooked up to net yet, nor have I hooked up speakers. Thanks.

Hi
Manual, Page 95, bottom of the page:
"Continuous long beeps: Graphics card not inserted properly"
Hope it helps.

I figured it out. The long beep was the cpu fan failure sound going off. I checked the Arctic Freezer 7 Pro fan and it wasn't spinning. I switched the fan's connector with the only other 4-pin connection available, SYS_FAN2, and turned off the CPU_FAN failure notification and turned on SYS_FAN2's in the BIOS.

However, I am wondering if this is going to be a problem as I am planning to overclock the cpu. Will the computer know to increase SYS_FAN2's speed to cool off the cpu? Is it a problem of Voltage? Do I need to override something in the BIOS? Thanks in advance.

EDIT: The AC Freezer 7 Pro fan doesn't turn on at low temps (my computer was idling around 27-29 degrees Celsius) while plugged into CPU_FAN because of the Smart Fan feature in the motherboard. For some reason the motherboard recognizes the fan's immobility as a fan failure (b/c that's the only way to tell?) and emits the error noise, at least until the fan starts up. I think as long as CPU_FAN failure notification is turned off, everything will work fine.
