I have a PC that I upgraded in order to perform better with Fallout 4.
The PC has a ASUS M5A78L-M USB3 motherboard.
Prior to the upgrade the PC was working fine just not performing or near spec for Fallout 4.
The upgrade included removing the CPU, 120MM Case Fan and PSU.
The upgraded parts included:
> AMD FX-9590 Vishera 8-Core 4.7 GHz Socket AM3+ 220W FD9590FHHKWOF Desktop Processor
> CORSAIR Hydro Series™ H80I GT High Performance Liquid CPU Cooler
> Ultra - 850 Watt X4 Special Edition Modular ATX Power Supply Unit
After I installed all component and ensured all power cable were going to where they needed I powered up the system. The system posted and took me to the BIOS as it recognized a new CPU.
I exited the BIOS and the PC booted to Windows 7.
However, the system hung saying new devices were being installed and after awhile I powered the system down and powered it back on. It would not POST.
I then began to clear the CMOS and then it would POST and boot to Windows 7.
I looked into the device manager and the driver was missing for the Cooler so after sometime I got the driver installed but there is still one device management USB item with the Yellow Exclamation mark.
Everytime the system is powered down, yet still having wall power it will not POST upon power up unless I clear the CMOS.
I have no idea what to do to troubleshoot this issue.
UPDATE: I just read the CPU manual and wonder if the CPU wattage could be the issue?
MB Manual says: Supports CPU up to 140W
The new CPU is 220W
