Help on my GPU and CPU upgrade

It's been few years im using my computer and today my gpu finally gave up, I'd like to know whats the best GPU upgrade depends on my set up( was thinking of HD 7850 or 7870) if i go to for that 7850/7870 what CPU upgrade should i go to? remember its probably gonna be awhile till i upgrade my CPU. I want a new GPU first.

my old set up:
motherboard: GA-78LMT-S2P
CPU: AMD FX-4100
GPU: Radeon HD 6870
PSU: Corsair TX650w
8gb RAM

He has a am3+ socket on his board, an i5 would not work, I would suggest a FX-8300 cpu (best for that board) and a r9 390 (if your psu has a 6 pin and an 8 pin (or 6+2))
These are some of the best options; however, if you want something cheaper then your cpu is fine and gpu would suggest r9 380 or even r9 370
I would verify though that your psu does have the correct pins
