Hello guys

I’ve turned on my pc and both the GPU and CPU fans/lights turned on. Same for mouse keyboard and other peripherals except for the two monitors. I’ve tried each monitor separately and they worked using the same hdmi cable if i plug them into a laptop. I’ve started removing the ram sticks one by one and did not helped. Also removed my dedicated GPU and tried running the pc from the integrated one(using the hdmi port from the motheboard) . Ended up removing the CMOS batery and the pc went into boot. I closed it, replaced the battery and now it still won’t even of i remove the cmos battery again unless i leave it unpluged for some time. I have debug leds on my motherboard and the leds for CPU and RAM flicker when starting(but do not stay on) which i assume is a good sign, However the leds for VGA and BOOT do not flicker at all. VGA and BOOt flickers only when pc manages to start in rare occasions

I will share my build
all pieces are new and less then an year old since purchased
I once had issues whin a ram stick found by memtest but (causing blue screens) but issues were gone after increasing the ram voltage from bios (verified with another memtest)

CPU - AMD Ryzen 7 7700X

Motherboard - MSI B650M-A WIFI (B650MAWIFI)

RAM 2 x CORSAIR Vengeance DDR5 32GB 2x16GB DDR5 5600 C36 1.25V

rest of the build is here if interested

Any thoughts what is happening, why and why does it works sometimes? Any other ideas on what i could check next would be appreciated very much

Thanks

NOTE - using radeon 6700xt as GPU not what is in the link

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!

Try with one stick of ram. Your motherboard also has a Flash BIOS button on the rear of the motherboard;
https://download.msi.com/archive/mnu_exe/mb/PROB650M-AWIFI.pdf
Page - 53, Updating BIOS with Flash BIOS Button, give that a whirl.

Can you see if another PSU with more wattage than you currently have helps solve the problem? Source(borrow, not buy) a reliable unit from a friend or neighbor.

Just an FYI, if you have to constantly clear the CMOS or introduce your hand inside a build, it could be a sign of a corrupt BIOS or a grounding issue.

Thanks for the answer and the welcome. Will try to find another source to test out. I have made some changes to bios and have a dual boot. Could some of those cause the issue? I’ve tried to flash bios button but did not help unfortunately. Sometimes the pc starts and sometime it doesnt(atm i have 1 ram, the GPU and the cmos battery removed) . Usually it starts if i let the pc unpluged for some time and i cant understand why. It worked last night, this morning and few hours ago

Hey guys,
For context, the fans run and light goes on all peripherals but the monitors state that there is no signal.
I tried multiple things:

  • removed gpu and used the integrated one
  • used only 1 stick of ram and tried each one
  • cleared CMOS and removed CMOS battery
  • removed all peripherals
  • used flash bios

When watching debug leds on motherboard, most of the time it flashes for CPU and DRAM but doesn't flash for VGA and BOOT . it only flashes for all when it does boot.

I’ve had issues with a socket extensions cord that caused my monitors not to start before these issues and one time i’ve had to plug and unplug my hdmi before monitors got signal. Now i’m having this issue. Wondering if they are related. I’m also hearing high pitched noise from my source when i start the pc. I’ve tried the paperclip test and checked my source with a multimeter. Voltages look fine for all cables but could it be faulty when its under load. Curios what you guys think of these events, if they could be related. I was thinking of trying a new source to see if it fixes the issues. Any opinions and thoughts are appreciated. Thanks!

Build is here,
