Hello! I've currently completed my first build, and in wanting to add additional fans I've run into a strange issue. I've got a CM Fan I picked up (3 Pin) and it does not fit into one of the slots on the hub. It seemed to have two prongs on either side (1-2 mm in height), which I managed to remove, but even so, the plug does not sit well in the hub without bending the pins.

Has anyone else been able to successfully connect 3 pin fans to their hub? I suppose it would be easier if I sanded/filed the plug down enough to fit. Kind of frustrating to be honest..

Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Solution
Are you telling me that MANY different "standard" 3-pin fans cannot plug into the hub - they all cause the hub's pins to bend in order to connect? That would say the hub is faulty. Does this happen on all of the hub's ports, or just on one?

Maybe you need to contact Phanteks' Tech Support people about a faulty unit.

Hello, I'm having the issue with fans including the CM Sickle flow 120 and two older fans by thermaltake and silverstone. For now I only have the CM fan installed using a 3 pin to 4 pin molex, which unfortunately means another cable to add to the psu, and a mess of cables barely able to close the case, in fact I haven't tried yet. Any info would be great.

When you plug the fan into the hub, those two little prongs are supposed to face DOWN towards the base of the hub. They should slide on either side of the plastic tongue that sits parallel to the three pins of a port. That way you can't plug it in turned the wrong way and mis-connect your fan.

Nice pic! You certainly are plugging in correctly. I'm surprised that it does not fit. For comparison, have you tried plugging in any other standard 3-pin fan to see it it fits? I'm thinking: which is wrong, the female connector on the hub, or the male connector on the fan wires?

Hello, yes I've tried pluggin in a thermaltake, cooler master, silverstone and even a Foxconn fan, all with the same issue. I'm worried if I invested in Corsair AF fans for the intake (seems to be a common setup for the Enthoo pro) I would be stuck using 3 pin to molex increasing the amount of cable mess in the back haha. I'm thinking of sanding the plug, colouring it black for orientation purposes and using it like that.. Thoughts?
