[HELP] Possible To Have Ethernet Connections Higher Priority Over Wireless Connections?

Hi readers!

I need some help with my home internet. I have a few bandwidth hogs in my family, whether it's watching Netflix on a Wii via WiFi. or Skype video chatting via WiFi. My ping rises to a stable 200 with %2-3 packet loss while playing CS:GO. I play CS:GO very competitively so this is an error.

Before, I had 6/1mbps (Up/Down). I did things for my parents (doesn't matter) and they agreed to increase the bandwidth to 12/2. Keep in mind, this is MY bandwidth, and my parents completely agree that this should be done.

Here's a speed test. http://www.speedtest.net/my-result/4698481628

My ISP is Frontier Communications.
My router model is the. Actiontec F2250
My router firmware is. F2250-36.128L.02

So what I'd like, is to have it setup where when I'm playing games, I won't have 300 ping and %2 packet loss.

Thank you in advance. If it isn't possible, let me know.

I'm no expert but look at the QoS (quality of service) settings on your router. I couldn't find any details in the manual for your router but one of the pics shows "QoS" under an Advanced menu.

My (WAG120N) router that has QoS I can set high priority to select Ethernet ports so maybe there is a similar setting on yours.

The issue you're talking about is called bufferbloat. OpenWRT uses fq_CoDel by default which does very well combating bufferbloat. Even people with 1Gb connection has these same issues. It's just much harder to load down a 1Gb connection.

I'm using a 1gb connection. Pretty much everything you just said flew over my head. Are you saying it can be done?

Here's a pic of what it looks like. I have no idea what to set though.

If you know what any of that means, that would be great :)

I do, what's your point?

Not sure what you mean but if you're referring to a setting it's default so probably incorrect.
