Hi Everyone,

Would someone please tell me how to prevent XP Pro running a file integrity check every time the computer boots?
I Have 3 HDD's in the computer, two of which are Fat32 (Primary Master C: and Primary Slave D:). The other drive is NTFS ( Secondary Master E:) It's the secondary master E: drive that checks the file integrity every time the computer boots.

Thanks.

I am sure you already tried the list below but asking anyway just incase you did not.

Did you let it finish, usually if you let finish running it won't run anymore after that? Does it ask you to hit esc key to cancel the scandisk? Hard drive going out?

Hi juice,

Thanks for the reply. I've let it run until it finishes, and yes, there's an option to cancel, which I now do. The HDD in question is a new one.

Do you have any more suggestions I might try?

Thanks.

Is hard drive still running check disk after you bounce the computer?

Check your event logs and see what error msg. there might be. Repost with your findings.
