Good Afternoon All,
The community helped me compile and build a gaming desktop five years ago that has still been going strong. Now I am in the market for a gaming laptop. My thought was a custom build would be the best way to go so I was looking to build an EVO16-S; however, I am not sure if there are components I can sacrifice for a minimal performance hit versus their costs. My goal isn't super high end gaming or VR, but just to be able to run games like the Witcher 3 and Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order with no performance issues. I am also not tied to an EVO16-S if anyone had any pre-built recommendations (or other customization options), but below is what I had compiled so far:
Motherboard : EVO16-S
Processors : Intel Core i7 9750H 6-Core 2.6GHz (4.50GHz TurboBoost)
Display Type : FHD 1920 x 1080 16.1" IPS level 144Hz Matte Display
Graphics Cards : NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 8GB GDDR6 Max-Q [VR Ready]
Thermal Compound
Memory : 32GB ORIGIN PC Approved DDR4 2400MHz (2X16GB)
Operating System : MS Windows 10 Home
Operating System Drive : 250GB Seagate BarraCuda SSD (FREE Upgrade to 1TB Seagate FireCuda SSHD)
RAID : No RAID
Audio : Integrated High-Definition Audio
Networking : Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 9560 + BT Combo
Also, if I needed additional space, the motherboard can only fit one SSD/HDD, would you recommend a NVMe or M.2 SATA drive?
Very appreciative of all your knowledge and insight!
Thank you!
