Help review 3d Animation/Gaming build

This is a build for a pc that will be used for 3D animation in Maya and similar programs, and high levels of gaming. This will be the first time I've ever built my own pc.

I'm just looking for an overall review of this build. anything that is overkill or any bottle necks.

I'm unsure about the CPU, is it a good selection for my needs? Is it overkill ?

Should I go with a 250G or 500G SSD?


I would like to purchase these parts in a couple days. Any other thoughts on the build would be appreciated!

Yes this CPU best choise for you.

250Gb or 500GB, only you know.
For OS and soft 250gb good. The size of the projects depends on what you need the SSD 500gb if you store projects ssd. If you store projects HDD you may buy 250gb.

HDD ST2000DM001 fast and low noise, Blue not best choise.

Regret all HDD unreliable. If you right use HDD, chance broken low.
1. Test your HDD after buy.
2. Monitoring temperature and SMAT HDD.
3. Firmly attach HDD in case.

But if you high reliable i recomend ST1000NC the corporate segment. Performing testing in plant better.
