Help to connect to weak wifi signal

My daughter is at college and cannot connect her laptop to her apt. bldg's wifi. (I believe it's overloaded) She has wired access in her room. To access the wireless, should I buy a router, wifi extender, booster ??

wifi extender would be best, you should work with whoever setup the building network to get it configured. A Router you will have issues with getting to the internet as the network in the room will be going though two routers which generally leads to issues.
