After I installed the e6700 , the cpu fan would start but pc will not boot. I tried clearing the c mos and taking the mobo battery out to no avail. Both Cpus are from the same chipset. Not sure if its a power issue. my PSU is 285w max, I'm also running a Geforce GT 430 GPU. It still won't boot when I unplugged the GPU. Please help! Thanks!!

The latest BIOS version for your motherboard is CF94510J[1].15A.0038.

What this means is that you already have the latest BIOS version.

Upgrading the CPU on an OEM system is tricky because some manufacturers don't allow any changes.

Was the chip pulled from a working system?

There is really no way to tell if a certain OEM system allows CPU upgrades unless someone has done it before or if you ask the OEM directly, which they'll probably not tell you.

So I decided to go ahead and reinstall/overwrite the same bios on my pc. I had a feeling that may work. And wouldn't you know it...it did! Maybe that sort of helps reset everything, not sure. The only thing is my cpu is spinning really hard and loud now. Is that normal since the cpu is faster? I might have fan issues. Before my back case fan would spin but it doesn't anymore. And when I put my 6320 back in before , it was this loud too, It took taking it out and putting it back in a few times to get it back to normal.
