I'd prefer not to change motherboards, but from what I've read the motherboard I'm currently using doesn't run well, and only goes with amd processors. I'm looking for an intel processor and motherboard that is compatible with my other specs. I'd also like to run the game CS:GO at around 300 fps, if that helps.

Solution
With my MSI TOMAHAWK AC motherboard, i5 6600k CPU and MSI GTX 1060 GAMING X 3GB, I get about 300-400 fps in CS:GO max settings.
You could go with something cheaper like an i5 6500, which should give around 200 fps, it's a whole 1GHz lower that my CPU speed.
