[SOLVED] help upgrading my graphics card for 4k

Hey everyone, hope all is well. i bought a used gaming pc a while back. it consist of a geforce gtx 1650, ryzen 5 2600, 16 gig ram, and a x470 aorus ultra gaming. i hooked up a 4k tv to my pc and was blown away by how better the games look. i play star citizen(don't judge me) and forza. my current systems does play 4k games but only from 20-30 fps max . so my Question to yall is what GPU can i buy to get a solid 4k thats not a crazy expensive ...also i think i might need a small form GPU

Solid 4k gaming? Like 60+ fps? Do you have to max out games? Or can you be happy with mediumish settings?

High to max, only really 2 options. 2080S and 2080ti. Both expensive.

Medium to high. Used 1080ti or 2070S. Still pricey, 500ish. The 5700xt would also do ok at more medium settings. As well as used radeon vii.

4k gaming is not cheap. And there are newer games where even the mighty 2080ti can struggle to maintain a solid 60. But if you be happy with a lower fps, like 30-40, it's more attainable but still pricey.

Is it a 1650 or a 1650 SUPER? Compared to the original 1650 (non-SUPER), even something like a 1660 SUPER should offer close to double the performance at 4K. Those start around $230 in the US. Even the 1660 SUPER is not exactly what I would consider a "4K card" though, and its questionable whether you would manage even a solid 30fps in some of the more demanding titles. 4K resolution is like rendering to four 1080p screens at once, so the performance demands are not exactly well suited toward the lower-end to mid-range of the graphics card market.

Here's all your choices for 300 and under, if you're in the US.

My choice from this list, and the card that would perform best at 4k, would be the 2060KO. It's right at your max budget, but will be the best option as far as 4k gaming is concerned.

And what you buy definitely depends on the specific power supply, which you have not identified as of yet.
