Hello, my name is Jin and I'm trying to build a new pc but am having issues.
I can not get this pc to post but it's not giving me any beeps from the mobo speaker.
Most likely I think the motherboard is dead but I'd like to see if anyone has other suggestions.
I currently have the setup in a breadboard atmosphere. The only things there are the CPU and HSF, the two mobo power cables, mobo speaker (proven working), and front case on/off switch + leds.
Turning on the case from the front will turn on all the fans but no error code beeps. Putting in memory, graphics card, etc. doesn't change how it acts/sounds.
I have studied every pin on the front and back of the mobo and where the processor is. They all look fine and nothing else looks amiss either (except two out of four ram slots have the little plastic levers on the side broken off...).
I don't have a multimeter for the power supply but I did sub in a known working one with no difference.
I've made sure to always be touching metal when messing about. I've reset the CMOS both ways, put in a new mobo battery...no change.
I've connected it to a monitor during testing, it reports "no signal."
As I said, pretty sure the mobo's gotta be dead. Lesson learned: don't buy used parts off of ebay... However, if there's anything I may have missed, please let me know. Ideally, I don't want to have to deal with returning it and finding a new one. Thank you in advance!
Specs:
CPU - Intel i5-4590 Haswell (brand new)
Mobo - Z87M-PLUS (UEFI Award Bios) (used from ebay)
Ram - Corsair Vengeance 4GB (taken from current system, proven works)
Power Supply - Thermaltake Toughpower 750W (brand new)
Case - Thermaltake Commander MS-I (brand new)
