Hey guys accidents happened and I accidentally got some thermal paste on some of the cpu pins (just about 3 or 4 of them) when removing my cpu from my mobo. I already went ahead softly with a qtip and wipes away all the whites i see.

My questions would be do i still need to clean it with alcohol and such to make sure that it doesnt mess up when i boot it? The paste i use was the “cooler master high performance thermal compound kit”

I also tried looking around for some isopropyl alcohol but it seems like theres no stores around me that have it, any other good alternatives?

Other than the liquid metal type thermal paste isn't harmful. I think the risk of damage to CPU pins is far greater trying to clean it off.

After carefully checking for any bent pins, put it in the socket and don't worry about it. It will work just fine.
