HELP: What happens if I use an nVidia GPU driver with AMD

Basically the title... I am asking this as I tried using an HD6970 Lightning with a GT 710 driver, but I am not too sure what happens if I use a nVidia driver with AMD. With the HD6970, I get no output and suspect it may have something to do with this... The GPU works, fans, lights and everything, but getting no output.

Everything else works fine... Would like this answered quickly....

go to safe mode, uninstall nvidia gpu driver and install amd driver

Hello fellow community,
I am having problems with a HD 6970 Lightning twin frozr III... Everytime I try to use it, there is not output... Everything else works fine as I am using another gpu right now. The lights on the gpu work, and so do the fans, but don't understand what is wrong with it. I was given it in working condition...
