Old school audio guy here who kinda gave up on my music collection on my PC and have left it alone for years
I have it running into several audio systems however, and I want to make it work now that I'm adding some sonic upgrades.

When I look at the music albums in my audio library (WMP), I see doubles. and on most albums, song 1 is missing. For example:
Artist: John Dough
Song2
Song2
Song3
Song3......

I can deal with seeing this, but I have a problem with playing an album as I don't want to hear songs twice consecutively.
Oh, and I'm often interested in hearing song #1 on some albums. Is this too much to ask for?

OS is Win10

Thanks very much in advance, for your thoughts and suggestions!

If you pull up the same album in VLC Media Player, what do you see? Personally, Windows Media Player was never on my list of favorite software. Heck, I’d rather configure Plex Media Server to stream my music across the network than to use WMP.

Check and see if you have the "save played items to" option checked in preferences for WMP. Along that same line, if you have moved the directory where the music 'was' it can do this as well. Unfortunately, I don't know a better way to deal with it than manual correction.

Thx. I don't have a "preferences"-- I have "options," but within it, there is no "save played items to" option.
