After applying some Windows Updates, I now get a "Windows Welcome Screen",
asking me to select a user. Previous to the updates, I used to be able to
boot the system without getting this screen.

If I go to "User Accounts" in the Control Panel, I can disable this welcome
screen, but then I get the classic "Logon Screen".

How can I bypass both the "Welcome Screen" and the "Logon Screen"? I am the
only user of this computer. Thanks.

The Welcome to Windows screen appears when you start Windows XP
after you install the .NET Framework 1.1

You can use the following steps to enable automatic logon:

1. Click Start, and then click Run.
2. In the Open box, type: control userpasswords2 , and then click OK.
3. In the dialog box that appears, clear the "Users must enter a user name
and password to use this computer" check box, and then click OK.
