So im looking to upgrade a few parts of my PC to allow for gaming. Mainly processor and gpu.

Currently i have:

Windows 7
AMD Athlon (tm) II X2 250 processor 3.00GHz
Geforce GTX 750 TI
Samsung Evo 860 1tb

I know my cpu is trash so am looking for possibly a mobo and chip combo ideally AMD and was thinking about the GTX 1050?

Would the addition of these put me in a place where most games are able to run smoothly on medium graphics?

Any info would be appreciated, approx budget £300

Thanks

Look at used parts for that budget. A quick perusal of used listings on eBay and what they sold for.

i7-4770K, Z87 motherboard, 16GB RAM combo goes for about £150.

GeForce GTX 1060 6GB or AMD Radeon RX 580 8GB about £115.

Yes it is used and Intel. But there is no way you will come close to the performance with new AMD parts of an i7-4770K, 16GB RAM, Z87 Motherboard and GTX 1060 or RX 580 for £300.

Also look at the 3770K and Z77 motherboard. As performance isn't much different. It'll take some digging as combos don't pop up often and many people want way too much.

if you dont plan to get 1050ti right now then get Ryzen 2200G+B350 board+3000mhz dual channel 2x8gb ram kit..
if you plan to get GPU right away or keep using 750ti for a while get ryzen 1600 or 2600 whichever you can find cheap also in this case wait until 3rd gen ryzen hit the market ..and you can try ryzne 3 (3rd gen )
