Hi,

I am looking for a monitor for all around use. Yes I will be gaming but a lot of my time is spent programming as well so I am looking for something that hopefully won't be too hard on the eyes.

At work I have 4 Dell P2314H's that aren't bad so that is sort of my baseline to judge all other monitors by. How would those rate against the ones below?

I saw that newegg has a VS247H-P on sale. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824236174&cm_re=asus_vs247h-_-24-236-174-_-Product

What is the difference between that and the VS239H-P? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824236288&cm_re=asus_vs239h-_-24-236-288-_-Product

Their specs seem pretty similar. Are these monitors alright or should I be looking at something else?

My GPU is an R9 290 if that is relevant information.

Thank you!

I'd go with the VS247h-P it has a faster response time which is better for gaming, it'll reduce the chances of flicker and 80% of the ratings and 4 stars and up. Not to mention Asus has awesome customer service and its offered at a beautiful price point. Although i did find a benq monitor-which are specifically designed for gaming at a similar price. Here, check it out

btw the amd r9 290 is a nice pick, hows the performance on that i was considering getting one myself since i found one offered at $250
