Hi there,
I’m building a new pc as the last one I built was about 5+ years ago and is kinda of outdated now.
I was wondering if someone could look at the build that I’m currently planning and give me some advice.
I live in the UK and my budget is around £1100 but there is room to increase it if needed.
I plan to use the pc for gaming, mainly first person shooters at a Resolution of 1920x1080 and aim to have the graphic settings around medium for most future games as a minimum.

Heres the parts list
https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/ZwrYNP#compatibility_notes

There are a few questions about this build that I wasn’t 100% sure about.

  • Should I go with an amd 3700x or 5600x for a cpu?
  • If I do go with 5600x will the current motherboard be okay?
  • Is it worth spending the extra money to getting 3600mhz ram or is 3400/3200 fine
  • Will just using the stock cooler be fine for my needs or should I consider getting a new cpu air cooler, maybe something like a noctua NH-D15 or is that a bit over kill
  • How’s my choice of psu, is it fine? Or is there something that’s better suited to this build
  • Whens the best time to buy parts? Is it worth while waiting for black Friday or cyber Monday?
  • Is there any reason to go with an 2060 super and not the 5700xt?

Solution
I'd switch to a B550 chipset right now, stick with a stock cooler for the CPU, swap the SSD to the Samsung 970 Evo Plus variant or the WD Black SN750 with a heatsink if that's cheaper, as for the PSU, get a 650W unit. Outside of those changes, the build is good.

I could do a rework of your build. Hang on.

Two SSD's, one for the OS(250GB) and the other for your game library(1TB).

Thanks so much for your time and help!
just a quick question if you dont mind, is the 5600x worth considering instead of the 3700x?
