I bought my Toshiba satellite at Walmart ( yeah I know) to use for medical transcription college. It worked good for three weeks and then the clock stopped working. Then the keyboard stopped working except if you knew F1 or all the other codes...you couldn't type letters...so my EX BF who said he knew computer repair, wiped everything off it and said we would re-install with the discs we got from it....only they had no registration code with it....so now my computer says on the bottom right hand corner when I start it....Windows vista (TM) Evaluation copy Build 6002 This copy is not original. So when I use my computer it works for about 20 minutes and then shut down because I can register my copy. i have no codes to register it. What can I do? And, can I replace the clock battery because that is a real pain too. I keep getting messages that say this site is not yet secure or approved.....even when I am on Google chrome.and it is a google site!!!! because the clock is not right. so I have to rest the clock every time I come on.

There should be a sticker on the bottom of the laptop, maybe under the main battery, with your windows registration key. As for the CMOS battery, if the laptop is well designed you should have access to it just by removing a couple of screws on the bottom of the laptop to take a single panel off. Thats how my HP is anyway, the panel that gives access to the ram also gives access to the CMOS battery.
