Help with build

I put my gpu into the pcie slot then turn my computer on and it works fine but i put the pcie cables from the psu into the gpu pcie slots and then try to start the pc up again, but it doesn’t boot. The power button light flashes and so does the gpu brand light but thats about it. The cpu heatsink fan runs for a bit too.

What GPU and Motherboard do you have?

gtx 980 msi 4gb and asrock ab350 pro
i tested everything and i believe it is the gpu i recently spilled a bit of coke on the board of the gpu and i think its just toast
