Help with Ethernet please!

Things I have tried - 10+ threads here on tomshardware, nothing has worked.

Right now I'm using my phones bluetooth to connect to the internet.

I'm on Windows 8.1

All of our ethernet ports have stopped working, but wifi is working fine.

I have factory reset my computer + router and it hasn't helped.

when I diagnose my internet for errors it says no ip configuration

I have tried ipconfig /release, ipconfig /flushdns and ipconfig /renew (which doesnt execute fully, as it won't work.)

I use an ethernet adapter, not directly through the router.

I have gone to device manager and updated the network controller drivers as well as drivers for my ethernet adapters.

Any ideas?

already did

update: i think it may have fried 2 of my adapaters.

I took an adapter that was upstairs in the house after my original stopped working, (the one that i grabbed secondly was working before i plugged it in and now it doesnt work at all.)

I then grabbed a third adapter from downstairs and now the internet is working fine. I suppose the other 2 adapters are broken.
