Hi, this is my first time building a computer and im looking to build a mini itx.

i tried to research and choose the components but i just wanted to make sure the hardware fits the case and if psu is enough and if the build is okay with overclocking.

here is the build:
CPU- intel Core i5-3570K 3.40GHz (Ivybridge)
Motherboard- Asus P8Z77-I Deluxe
Case- Silverstone FT03 mini
GPU- Galaxy GTX 670 ( i chose this because i think it will fit the case, however im unsure that the psu would handle it)
SSD-Samsung 250GB SSD 840 SATA
HDD- Western Digital Caviar Black 1TB SATA
PSU- Silverstone Strider SFX Gold 450w '80 Plus Gold' Modular Power Supply
RAM- Corsair Vengeance Blue 8GB (2x4GB)
ODD- Silverstone SST-SOD02 Slimline Slot Loading 8x DVD±RW SATA Drive
Cooling - Corsair H60 Performance Intel Liquid Cooling Solution (do i need an extra fan or mounting the rad on the bottom of the case is enough, also thermal paint is needed for any kind of heatsink right ?)
OS- Microsoft Windows 8 64bit

any advice or modifications would be helpful thanks :)

Here is something you can do possibly. I've tinkered with your build a little bit but don't worry all is well. So lets go through this piece by piece.

CPU/Motherboard: I went with the gigabyte board mainly due to price and it retains the z77 chipset. You can go with the ASUS offering however its a bit more expensive.

Case: I changed the case because I was unable to find yours in a small compact ITX form factor and the prodigy is amazing from what I've seen. Here is a picture of the prodigy carrying a long graphics card.

Memory: I went with low profile in the event you use a large cooler.

Cooling: I wouldnt go with the h60 personally. I would just go with a air cooler on the low end go with the cooler master evo on the high end go with the Noctua NH-D14 of course if you want to go air cooling maybe look towards the h80i and you would need to use the fans yes they come with them.

Hard drives: I went with the professional edition at a smaller amount. Mainly because the pro edition uses a different memory interface that will blow the non pro out of the water and will last longer because of its NAND memory MLC v the TLC of the non pro.

OP DRIVE: I went with a basic drive although if you felt like it you could put in a blu ray drive/burner. You don't have to go slim line with this case.

OS: I went with windows 7 64 bit because you'll go through a lot less headaches game wise with this setup

Overall I think you have a good basis. If you don't like my case selection by all means you can go with yours I'm just trying to give my feedback on what I think may be better (my opinion) I'll share a picture of my build.

i looked at the prodigy before the ft03 mini but i thought it was too bulky for me thats why i would prefer the ft03 mini but im just unsure of what the right parts might be because i dont want to buy something that wont fit. thats why i want to make sure of the cooling and psu etc

Oh okay I gotcha the FT03 looked more like a standard mini atx case that is what through me off it looks like you had the right case. Yea I don't know I really like the look of the prodigy very small and compact but has tons of room to do quite a bit with but I see what you are going for something more thin and sleek. here is a pic of what I believe is a gtx 680 which has a 11 inch length. I wouldn't worry about that. I'd also stick with the XFX 550 watt 450 "may work" but I wouldn't feel comfortable with it.

Also here is a picture of the NH-D14

i guess going for the prodigy would be the better choice. what do you recommend for cooling. is the noctua NH-D14 better than the prolimatech megahalems ?
