[SOLVED] Help with getting back plate off of cpu stuck with adhesive

Trying to mount new heatsink old backplate is stuck and can't get it off because of adhesive possibly. i've tried to get the backplate off but the sides don't have any give and i don't want to pry it off. I have used a hairdryer to melt the adhesive but i haven't made any real progress.

Are you taking the IHS off? If so use a exacto knife and try to sing into the corners and it should come off unless it’s a solder CPU like the 9900k because you can’t take it off with that
