Hello i have a new MSI 4060 Ventus OC GPU which works fine, temps included.

Sometimes when gaming i get a weird sound, it doesnt always happen but only some games seems to trigger it. Also running graphical benchmark like superposition doesnt trigger the sound even if the fans spin pretty fast. Im 100% sure its not coil whine since i got this sound while putting the fans at 100% and back to 0 with msi afterburned while on idle.

This is how it sounds like.

Someone knows whats casuing this? Does it sounds like the fans bearing are bad or maybe its the gpu bracket vibrating? Its pretty loud when it happens.

I hope someone can recognize the issue from the sound.
TY

It is the only company that has a problem with its fans.
This happens when the card starts up and heats up, so adjust the fan speeds and you'll be a little better

ok, So its a common issues with msi cards? Someone told me that i should RMA the card since this sounds like bad fan bearing. But i think that they wil not accept it since it doesnt always happen. It does happen mostly when the fan change speed but not always.

For example i changed the speeds to 100% and then 0% and got the sound tried 2 3 times more and it sounded fine. Its really weird and annoying

Yes, if the noise is not corrected, you will have RMA
First do what I told you and if you can improve the airflow in the case you have
if you can, upload a photo so we can better see how it is in there

Here is my case

Anyway i tried to adjust the speed to find whitch percentage to avoid but its really hard to find what percentage triggers this. I tried every fan speed up to 100 and couldnt replicate this, it seems to happen randomly. I think it could be something vibrating in the case and than amplified by the metallic case? doesnt a bad fan souds more like a scratching sound than a huming sound and happens always?
Also i fear that tring to RMA for this they might refuse since it doesn't always happen and if they test the gpu they might say its fine

try to Disable Exclusive Mode: Go to Sound settings in Windows, select your audio device, then click "Properties." then Advanced tab, uncheck the option which says "Allow applications to take exclusive control of this device."

if at some point you get another card that uses 2 plugs, you will never insert the specific one, but you will give a second one from another power supply cable
clean the fans as well as your card and try again if it makes noise, if you find contact spray without oil you can also spray a little on the fans after you have cleaned them with air first

Sorry but im not understandind what you mean. Why should i change the plug of the pcie, aren't exactly the same? My card has only One pcie plug so one has to be hanging off.
Also i dont have a different pcie cable for the GPU.
I dont understand how this could fix GPU noise
