Hi, currently I have an NVIDIA GTX550 Ti Cylone II (old card) and I would like to upgrade it to a GTX750 or GTX960 Ti but it says that the more wider the fastest memory interface is.Also people told me to consider getting the latest type of memory GDDR5.Okay so the one I have now (192Bits) is much better than the GTX 750 (128 bits)?

Worth upgrade?

Can someone explain me please?

Solution

The CPU's are different GTX550Ti is about HD7770 level in performance and the 750 has a much more powerful GPU http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/MSI/GTX_750_Ti_Gaming/25.html

But can you explain me more in detail? I keep not understanding why the GTX750Ti is better than the 550.Is a 128bits vs 192.

It may be a smaller memory bus, but the memory on the GTX 750ti / GTX 960 is SIGNIFICANTLY more efficient. Being able to squeeze much more performance out of a smaller area. This has been the trend the past couple years with Nvidia. AMD just smashes more shader cores into the cards, thus increasing heat output and raising the TDP.

Do you mean the effective memory clock or memory size?

Solution
Bus width, just like VRAM size, Die size, Core count, etc, are meaningless to compare on its own with other cards, because the architecture of each card is significantly different, and works in significantly different ways.

This is not the same as say comparing a 32bit system to a 64bit system where the bits makes a huge difference. For GPU's there is a multitude of other components that come together to give the final performance.

750ti, in this example, is based on Maxwell, which uses a smaller number of busses more efficiently (resulting in both improved performance and lower power use), and thus despite it having a narrower bus, performs better than older cards.
