What is this? The tied-down bundle of cables includes, on the other side of the shroud, the standard things I can identify, such as the USB 2/3, audio, LED, etc., but not these pictured. Are they fan controllers? The case has a built-in fan control switch. Tangentially, would this plugged-in metal lamp serve as a ground while working in the case?

You should take a better/clearer image of the connector. As it stands it's focusing on your palms/fingers. What I can make of it through the blurry image is that they look like connectors to pair 3pin DC fans. Does the connector look like it should have 3 pins but only has 2 pins visible within the sheath?

You've posted this thread in the cases section, what is the make and model of the case? Is it by Fractal-Design? Any reason you included the second image?

It is a Fractal Define R5 case, with a built-in fan controller and two included 140mm DC fans. Here are more views. I wonder if the connectors in the image are meant to interface with the two DC fans. As a secondary question, is this metallic lamp a viable ground for working in a computer case?
