Help with monitor ?

I'm planning on buying a monitor, primarily for games like cs go, rocket league and a few older titles and some ps4 single player games like gta 5, gow, lou etc.

What I'm looking for is:

1920x1080 resolution
144hz refresh rate
x2 hdmi ports

I'm not sure if I need gsync or not, I don't quite get the difference. All the help is appreciated, thanks!
