Help with my AMD CPU 8320

I have an FX 8320

I'm trying to max Far Cry 4 with 60 fps but I get lag when just on high settings. (Noe even ultra high)

It recomends for ultra a GTX 680 and an FX 8350.

I have a GTX 970 and my FX 8320
I also have 8 gigs of HyperX Blu Red RAM
750w PSU.

Is the reason I'm not getting 60 FPS because of my CPU?

Is this online or offline playing? What resolution are you playing at? The 8320 is only marginally slower than the 8350, shouldn't make much of a difference really. The gtx 970 is a stronger card than the 680, so that shouldn't be it either.

I'm trying to max out at 1080p with a 60hz moniter.

I can barely get 30 FPS on Medium. All of this is offline.

I could run this better when I had a Radeon 7850.

Also I need to mention I just installed this GPU today.

I put it in can booted up and went to the NVidia website and got the latest drivers from there instead of using the CD it came with to install it.

did you clean the old drivers out ?

It may just require time for performance patches to be released. Lots of people are having a variety of problems with fc4, even with decent specs. Many are getting bad stuttering. Performance seems to be varied and sketchy from person to person and has been the topic of lots of discussion in gaming forums since its' release.
