Hey,

I've had the HD7970 for about a month and a half now and have had loads of problems with it. It crashes and occasionally has graphics artifacts in games, runs pretty hot under load (75c+), the fans are extremely loud due to it having to be at about 80% in intensive games to keep the gpu cool, and the drivers are terrible. It has serious fps drops in league of legends, which I believe is a driver issue. I recently gave my friend my old 650ti and was astonished to see him get 250fps at max settings while I was getting a max of 120fps with vsync off, but always spiking down to 30fps.

I'm going to RMA it, but I'm scared that it will be deemed not faulty, leaving me without a graphics card for up to 3 weeks for nothing (I'm going to exchange it for a GTX 770). At factory settings (1050/1375 @ 1.256v) it runs pretty fine for the most part, and the graphics problems (crashing and artifacting ) only happens every now and then (Still pretty frustrating). I can't overclock or even decrease the voltage without the card crashing and/or giving artifacts. I notice also that when I run Kombustor the load keeps spiking between 60% and 99%.

Would you guys say there is a problem with this card? Or is it just me being overly complacent? I just want to be happy with my build, and these problems has been keeping me from being happy with it. I'd just like to know what my options are to make my experience better.

Sorry if it seems like I'm rambling.

Cheers

75c is fine. Which version of driver are you using? I would use display driver uninstaller to remove old driver completely and then install driver v13.12. I used to just to install driver on the top of the old driver. I have occasional artifacts with new driver install on the top of old driver. With display driver uninstall all of my artifacts are gone.
