help with my maxtor!

I have a 20.4 gig 7200rpm 2mb cache maxtor hard disk (ada 66). I've got it plugged into the non-raid eide port on my kt7-raid, using an ada-66 cable. I ran sisoft sandra's hard disk benchmark utility, and it said that my maxtor disk was giving out 4400 marks! It also said that the usual benchmark for such a disk (ada 66 7200rpm) was 16000 marks!!! Can anyone tell me what's wrong with this disk? It's never given me trouble in the past, but I've also never benchmarked it before...

go into device manager and make sure that you have dma enabled.

Also it might help to load the UDMA drivers for your chipset.
