Hi people!

I have a problem with my pc, I don't know what is happening.

Two months ago my pc was working perfectly...Then i bought GTA 5 and the problems were starting...My PC becomes very inestable and shut down with the typical windows' blue screen. Then when I turn it on again, its show me this message:

Well, I keep playing a couple of weeks more, and the blue screen were more and more common...

Nowdays is crash for almost all! I mean, the other day I was in facebook the PC shuts down!!

I also tested to format the PC, I changed from Windows 8.1 to Windows 7 then I come back to 8.1 because with windows 7 was worse...

I went last week with my power supply to the service...They said me that my power supply is little for my components and I have to buy a bigger one (more watts)...

So I dont know what to do, because Im not sure if the power supply is the problem...

Should I replace my power supply?

My setup here:

Power Supply: Vitsuba 550w Real San-55-s 80 Plus Bronze
Mother: ASUS P8Z77-M PRO
Processor: Intel® Core™ i5-3570K Processor (6M Cache, up to 3.80 GHz)
RAM: Kingston HyperX blu 1x8GB
Video: NVIDIA EVGA 660 OC 2GB
HDD: 1tb Wd Western Digital Serie Caviar Blue Sata 3
OS: Windows 8.1

Any help is welcome :wahoo:
Sorry for my bad english!

Solution

That's what I would do :). Seriously though, there's a reason behind why I say this. Your PC is the more power hungry of the two. It will put a strain on the PSU somewhat. The XFX is much better equipped to withstand the extra strain than the Smart. By switching the PSUs, you'll most likely prolong the life of the Smart since it'll be under less strain. No worries about the XFX, it is more than capable of handling your PC.

That isn't to say...
Haha, you are right, no errors in the sfc's scan. Literaly it says "Windows Resource Protection found no infringement of integrity."

Perfect Chayan, I will test the machine now for a couple of days, if the blue screen appears again I will post it. I hope no.

This is maybe a bit offtopic but:
I have the Avast antivirus installed in all my CPUs it is fine? Or should I have another one?

I'm going to do Malwarebytes scans more frequently too...

I will install the WD lifeguard also, I didn't heard about that program before, Is good to know!

Many thanks, if you ever come to Argentina, you have a friend here! :)

No problem! Glad to help :). Avast is fine. It's on par with AVG, Bitfdefender and other good Anti-viruses (The difference between them is mostly features. Protection is very similar when you look at the best free anti-viruses on the market).

Hi Chayan, how are you?

Unfortunatly I'm back... My brother (the owner of the PC with problems) said me that today the PC Freezes'. I mean, he coundn't do anything but reset the computer from the button...No blue screen or error screen this time...

I'm really very frustrated with this CPU...

What we should do?

Many thanks!

I've had this issue multiple times. Turned out to be a corrupt iGPU driver once, a bug with Windows 10 Technical Preview some time ago (Not very probable here) and a faulty SATA cable the last time. All had slightly different symptoms.

What exactly happens? Does absolutely everything, down to the cursor and sound, freeze? Or can you move the cursor around but not click on anything?

Since you re-installed windows, first get the latest drivers from Nvidia and install them. See if that solves the problem.

Hi Chayan!

Yes, Its only freeze (He coundn't move the mouse, and do anything) so he had to reset the machine from the button.

Today I have news! Blue screen again -.-
Now with this error: kmode_exception_not_handled.

I analyze the CPU with the debbuger and this is the result...

What should I do? My windows is updated, my GPU too...I don't what to do...

Thanks for all!

You have one VERY unhappy PC 🙁. Something is definitely faulty. I was hoping this wouldn't be needed, but now it's time to start swapping parts in from your machine.

What is known to be good: PSU

Probably good: RAM, HDD

Unknown: CPU, Motherboard, GPU

We could probably pinpoint which one it is through multiple stresstests, BSOD analysis and a process of elimination, but that will take a very long time. It's much easier to see if the issue goes away when one part of the PC is swapped out. First though, Clear CMOS (I should have told you to do this before. Sorry!) and see if that solves it. If not, swap your RAM into your brother's PC and see if that solves it. If not, then the RAM is good. If the problem stops, the RAM is faulty. Next step is to remove the GPU. Run on integrated graphics, and make sure to uninstall Nvidia drivers and install Intel ones. Again, use the PC for a while, run a GPU stress test or two (Like 3DMark) and see if the problem comes up. If not, the 660 is faulty. If it still persists, then it's either the HDD, Motherboard or CPU. If you can, re-install Windows on a different HDD and see if the problem goes away. Whenever you re-install Windows don't forget to install drivers for the GPU too.

EDIT: Try this too: http://www.tomshardware.com/faq/id-1655596/fix-kmode-exception-handled-error-windows.html

I doubt it's a driver issue since we have re-installed Windows multiple times, but you never know.
