I just buyed a r9 280x which contains a 8+6 pins connectors, then I noticed that my power supply pcie cable have a 6+2 connector cable. What I have to do for connect it? I have to use the adapter which will come with the r9? I mean, I will have to connect the 6+2 power supply cable in the front part of the adapter and the other part I connect in the r9?

Sorry for the bad english..

Ty.

Your PSU should have somewhere around 2 6+2 connectors. They are 8 pin connectors, but with the option to not use a set so it can be a 6 pin. You should end up using one full connector and one of the 6 without the +2. You need 2 connectors from the PSU as I do not trust adapters.

So I have to connect 2x cables pcie from the power supply in the r9 280x but one of them I only connect the 6 pins part?

what is your PSU brand and model ?
Also your full system specs ?
the Radeon R9-280X - requires 30A and a 550W psu minimum.
Remember using only good branded certified PSUs.
if branded PSU and mits the power minimun recommended, you can use your 6+2 connector, and the molex 6 pin adapter that came with the card

Is there is more 2x 6+2 pcie cables 😀. Thanks

Also, another question: Do you think my i5 750 overcloked to 3.6ghz will be fine with the R9 280X? Should I overclock it more?

It's a Seventeam 850w v-force. So I have to connect 2x cables from the power supply? Using one fully connected (6+2) and the other only 6?

yes, thats ok

And do you think my i5 750 overcloked to 3.6ghz will be fine with the R9 280X? Should I overclock it more?
