Help with new installation of SY-KT400 Dragon Ultra Platinum

I installed the mb today. I am having some unusual occurances---first,
I cannot connect my ide cable to ide 1, it is not recognized. It will
be recognized in IDE 2. Second, I am having intermitant problems with
my memory cards, one 1 GB and one 512 K. Sometimes will boot OK, other
times will give me the dreaded long "beeeeeeeeeep!" I am using an
Athlon XP 2800.

Check your bios settings and your memory timings
As far as the memory, try the 1GIG in DIMM 1 and the 512 in DIMM 3. Leave
DIMM 2 empty
