I have the Z170-Pro motherboard and am trying to decide which HB SLI bridge to get. I want the maximum airflow possible but can't figure out whether this would be best accomplished by sticking the cards as far apart as possible or using the two most adjacent slots. I can't tell what the best solution is myself because I haven't built the pc yet, but i'd like to get the bridge now so that when I do build it I won't have to worry about it any more. Here's a pic of the mobo:

For those of you who have SLI'd in the past, which two PCI slots do you generally choose?

Solution
You do not have a choice in teh matter. PCIE bandwith restrictions impose that you install teh second GPU in the "PCIEX16_2" slot, so you need a [strike]two[/strike] three slot gap bridge.

EDIT:

The only slots I think you can use are the top (grey) PCIE slot and the next PCIE slot below that (black). I don't think you can use the bottom PCIE slot for SLI.

Even so the spacing should be fine for SLI. Nvidia makes a HB bridge but EVGA also makes HB bridges which have the EVGA logo which you can change the color as long as you use 10XX series cards.

I'm not sure which length you will need though for the HB bridge.
