I need help with what to expect in terms of graphics with these 2 cards......I've been limited to what I can play by my GPU and have these 2 choices available (From Friends)

My Comp:
-Amd Phenom IIx4 955 (3.2-3.6ghz Stable)
-6gb Ram
-Windows 7
-600 Watt Bronze Power Supply (Corsair Builder Series)

Card Choices:
-Gtx 750ti

or

Radeon R9 270X

I know 720p isn't as demanding (or ideal) as 1080p but its what I have for now.....

What Presets/performance can I expect on most games.....
I know I will be CPU limited on some of the newest AAA Titles.....

Thanks in advance

Solution
The R9 270X is the card you want...more powerful than the 750 Ti, and you have a PSU (albeit not the greatest) that will cater for it in terms of the required PCI-E connectors.

Yeah that's the one I was leading towards.....
On 720p what can I expect for performance.....Again, I hear 720p isn't very demanding....
I should be able to play most games on "High" or "Ultra" depending on the game?

Yeah based on those charts, 720p should be a breeze.......

What do you think the HIGHEST card my cpu can handle.....

Someone said around a gtx 960 or R9 290x

I'm no CPU expert but I suspect you would be hard pushed to max out the 270 with a Phenom II. Your best option would be to get the best stable overclock possible or upgrade to a 980 (given its the top AM3 processor) and overclock the bejeezus out of that.

with a 4ghz overclock you should just about top out at a gtx 960/ r9 380, still would bottleneck in cpu bound games though

dont even think of a 290x with your current setup

XD

With my Case (Thermaltake Chaser A31) and 6 fans and Evo Cooler, I can get 3.6-3.8 Stable......
Cant get much higher......Not sure if I have a bad motherboard or if it's just not that overclock friendly.....

So assuming I can only get 3.6-3.8ghz what would be the highest you recommend....

Honestly, the 270x would be SUCH an upgrade from my gtx 460 and seems like it would do wonders on 720p

grab a gtx 960

a 270x isnt bad either though if your budget is an issue

So a Gtx 960 would be good if my cpu is @3.6ghz....
Not too bad of a bottleneck?
