Just bought a graphics card from my friend (sapphire hd 7850). I'm currently using this powersupply https://postimg.org/image/gbjzumnhd/97bbcc0a/ it has no pcie connectors so I need to use an adapter for the graphics card. Will I be able to run it with that or should I just buy a better psu? Thanks

well the 6pin connector is what you are looking for, you don't describe the rest of the computer (motherboard/cpu/ram) so hard to tell your power consumption at this point, but looks like your PSU is 700w, Did it have a name ? I don't recognize the label (blue and black)

the HD7850 power consumption ( According to web site Guru3d )

Measured power consumption R7870
System in IDLE = 157W
System Wattage with GPU in FULL Stress = 274W
Difference (GPU load) = 117W
Add average IDLE wattage ~10W
Subjective obtained GPU power consumption = ~ 127 Watts

waiting for your details to answer question, but in general if the PUS doesn't have the 6 pin connector (at least one) the power supply is old enough in age to need replacing with a more modern one... will you need 700w unknown until you let us know what your PC is about.

according to http://www.pcpartpicker.com/ ;

Note: Wattages are estimates only. Actual power draw may differ from listed values.
Component
Estimated Wattage
Intel Core 2 Quad Q9300 2.5GHz Quad-Core OEM/Tray Processor 11W - 95W
Asus P5KPL-AM EPU Micro ATX LGA775 Motherboard 15W - 60W
Kingston ValueRAM 4GB (2 x 2GB) DDR2-800 Memory 6W - 6W
Sapphire Radeon HD 7850 2GB Video Card 32W - 130W
Total: 64W - 291W

So yes you PSU is more than likely even ( and I am sure a great many here will say get a new PSU) be just fine... you need to get an adaptor from MOLEX to 6 pin like the following item on
